Documenting your life , the vulnerability of saying yes.
A woman leaving Montreal for South America let me photograph her last night. What unfolded was a quiet act of choosing herself — portraits in Montreal.

When Paper Becomes a Crown: Creative Family Photography in Montreal
There's a moment, and if you've watched a child put on a costume, you know exactly the one, where something shifts.
They stand a little differently. The chin comes up. The eyes go somewhere else, somewhere inward and bright and entirely their own. It doesn't matter if it's a thrifted fairy dress or a cardboard crown held together with tape. Something in them says: yes. This is who I am today.
That moment is what I'm there to photograph.
Is Visibility the Missing Piece in Women’s Career Growth?
Women’s career growth is not just about performance. It is about visibility, being seen, heard, and recognized for what you bring.
‘Mama’, ‘Mom’, ‘MooooooOooom’
"I have no photos with my kids. I'm always the one taking them."
I've heard this so many times, in so many kitchens and living rooms and backyards across Montreal, that it almost doesn't surprise me anymore. Almost. Because every time someone says it, there's still that small, quiet weight behind it. The faint recognition of something missed, something not yet recovered.
The art of craftsmanship
Lately it feels like everything around us is fast, disposable, and automated. I recently stepped into the quiet world of woodworker Catherine Ouellet, a place where craftsmanship, patience, and human touch still matter. Photographing her reminded me why handmade objects ground us: they carry stories, skill, intention, and soul.
In my latest blog I share what I witnessed in her workshop, one bowl made slowly, thoughtfully, and beautifully, and why we’re craving this kind of meaningful creation more than ever. If you’re passionate about sustainability, slow living, art, or handcrafted goods, this one will speak to you.
Documenting motherhood; a breast feeding journey
She cried that morning. Not from doubt. From the weight of having had to defend something so simple, so tender, for so long. An act of love met, over and over, with unsolicited opinions from people who had no place at that table.
Out of that friction, Erin built something. She started her own photography series, Mama Melk, to connect with other mothers and normalize breastfeeding toddlers. She became an educator and an advocate almost overnight. What others called rebellion, she called love.
And then Alice was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and suddenly Erin's refusal to stop wasn't just love. It was a lifeline.
Take The Picture
I’m a Montreal-based fine art portrait and family documentary photographer specializing in motherhood photography and authentic storytelling for women and families.
Many women feel they’re not photogenic, but it’s not about how you look, it’s about how you feel. Through documentary family photography and fine art portraits, I capture real connection, strength, and the beauty of everyday motherhood.
This blog shares stories, inspiration, and insight into motherhood photography, family sessions, and preserving your legacy through honest, emotive images.
Every body belongs. Every story matters.
