About

My work is deeply rooted in the exploration of self-acceptance, identity, and the human experience. My photo-realistic sculptures focus on capturing the nuanced emotions that come with embracing one’s body and identity, especially in a world where external standards often dictate self-worth. Through hyper-realism, I seek to convey the quiet yet powerful stories embedded in every wrinkle, scar, and expression, all of which carry the marks of personal history, struggles, and triumphs. The human form serves as my primary canvas.

In crafting each piece, I strive to reflect the complex relationship people have with their bodies, both the reverence and the discomfort… an invitation to pause and recognize the inherent value in our natural, unaltered selves. Through portraiture and figuration, I celebrate the imperfections that make us whole, reminding us that every line tells a story, every detail contributes to our identity.

I aim to foster a sense of acceptance, not just of one’s external appearance but of one’s inner narrative, understanding that self-worth transcends societal expectations.

Ultimately, my art is an invitation to recognize the beauty in the complexities of identity, encouraging viewers to see themselves and others with greater empathy and acceptance.

The Divine Feminine

Creating lived-in bodies is about ownership and beauty. It’s about celebrating the achievements and experiences etched on our skin. The roadmaps of our lives, focusing on the marks of time that are so often overlooked. These bodies, our bodies, hold history, resilience, and presence. They are not imperfect, they are lived, and they are seen.

In order to celebrate life, one celebrates lines, wrinkles, growth. You can’t do that in a vacuum, sterilized against the winds of time and maps of lived experience. What a privilege to see furrows and valleys etched in skin, worn by worry, love, awe…

Every morning I wake up and look in the mirror I thank each one for the story it tells. Is it cheesy? Maybe. Is it true, absolutely.

The name ‘Meredith” comes with some wonderful meanings, ‘great ruler’ being one.

One can rule over others and be powerful, but to rule oneself is true mastery.

‘The Four Agreements

  • Be Impeccable With Your Word:

Speak with integrity, say only what you mean, and avoid using words to speak negatively about yourself or others.

  • Don't Take Anything Personally:

What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, not a reflection of you. Taking it personally creates unnecessary pain.

  • Don't Make Assumptions:

Ask questions and clarify to avoid misunderstandings, blame, and drama.

  • Always Do Your Best:

Your best will change from moment to moment, but doing your best is the surest way to avoid self-judgment. ‘

Get Soaked, Polymer, Resin, Corningware, fabric, 8x10x12 inches 2025

$ 2760

A simple view of a complicated piece. The making of this work was one of exploration, outrage and humour as the notion of ‘Women belong in the kitchen’ was being pondered after a particularly difficult day…

Women belong in safety and delight. A bath in corningware, a symbol of domesticity flipped on its head, rather than a confine its is comfort, and a refusal to comply. I photographed this piece in my kitchen, my safe place, with fresh eggs and morning light.

A woman with curly hair, wearing a red and white checkered headscarf, is taking a bath surrounded by green foliage, with her eyes closed and a peaceful expression.
