Hi, I'm Julia! Most people call me Jules.
I'm a Montreal based photographer and artist.
What is it like to shoot with me?
I’ve been described as being present, calm and deeply rooted.
My idea of a good time is a book, a canoe (preferably with my husband also paddling), and being out with my dogs. All three combined is magical.
I love to hike, make art and explore. If I'm home, I'm either working on some art, editing or blasting music while dancing arrhythmically, in the kitchen.
I’m not what you would call ebullient or bubbly, so if you’re looking for someone that brings a ton of energy to your event, I may not be your cup of tea.
My goal for any kind of photography session, first and foremost, is comfort - making sure you are comfortable and most authentically beautiful, self - kinda like a cool photography aunt.
I like to strike a balance between the details and the big picture so that there is a really great feel of the beauty and joy of your day.
What is a posed session?
A posed session is one where we work together to get images like head shots, outfits, individual, couple and family photos which are structured. I'll help you pose, make sure you hit your best light and make sure you're comfortable while posing. These kinds of shoots can be done in the home, outside, or in a café style setting. Before we shoot together, we'll talk outfits, prep and whatever you need to make sure you feel ready.
What is a documentary style session?
A documentary session is an unstructured photo session where I follow and capture the action. This can be an artist in their studio, a musician at practice, a dancer rehearsing.
For family sessions activities can include such things as such as board games, tag, gardening, cooking and meals and bath time, family picnic, beach time, cabin time. The same kind activities can also be done with couples.
Can I blend documentary and posed?
Absolutely!
Blended sessions usually include 10-20 minutes per hour, or per session of posed images, either in the form of casually styled portraits or planned action shots.
How are my images delivered?
All of the images are ready to download, so you can chose which ones you want to print or you can also order prints. Every part of the process is about ease, because there are enough things to take care of when you have a full family life.

Day in the life sessions
DITL sessions can start from a 3 hour session, all the way up to 8 hours. It's a documentary style session which follows a family day and activities. These are amazing sessions to do with kids of all ages.
These sessions are designed to capture special behind the scenes moments such play, cooking together, story time, drawing (on the walls or otherwise) tree forts, sofa cushions forts,
teeth brushing, tantrums, and everything in between, basically all the beautiful bits that make up your family and dynamic.
